Create a unique, new customer shopping experience in NYC Upper East Side that is locally market relevant
The IKEA Planning Studio is an inspirational, convenient and accessible touchpoint for affordable small space living solutions.
We utilized interactive digital tools and focused on coordinating complex systems with an 'NYC curated' range of furniture and accessories that were multifunctional for fluid living.
The customer experience is different from a standard IKEA store with a focus on seamless multichannel experience - ordering products for home delivery, browsing a limited range for small-space solutions, and consultations with IKEA design experts.
With the bed 'compact' we wanted to show the different styles of sleeping solutions IKEA offers for small space living: MALM lift-up storage bed, BRIMNES daybed, a loft bed, NORDLI built-in storage bed, and a sampling of our headboard range.
The beds are coordinated with complex storage systems - NORDLI, ALGOT, and ELVARLI - and utilized the 15 foot wall display height to make truly 'WOW!' moments
ALGOT, ELVARLI, and BROR are shown in a variety of different solutions to solve problems in a small space: working from home, laundry, and multi-use storage.
Each combination can be copied entirely by the customer or serve as inspiration to start the planning process
Propping and accessorizing supports the themes and helps visitors realize possibilities

As the 1st planning studio in North America and one of the pilots for the customer meeting point format, this unit had a lot of buzz.
